Journey through Scotland's epic Great Glen - a vast geological fault line which cuts thorugh Scotland from East to West, and among its many rivers and lochs, is home to the Great Glen Way, the Caledonian Canal and the legendary Loch Ness.

Experience a two day canoe trip in the Great Glen with a wild cooking camp under the stars, followed by a night in one of Canalside Cottage’s bijoux bothies at Laggan Locks. This adventure starts at South Laggan and will take you along part of the Caledonian Canal and Great Glen Canoe Trail.

With a friendly and experienced guide, paddle from Laggan Locks along the canal reach at Laggan corridor and then into Loch Oich where we will camp for the night at the half-way point at Letterfern.

Taste the essence of slow living

Picnic on homemade bread, chutneys and cakes from the Well of the Seven Heads delicatessen. Take part in preparing an outdoor feast at the end of your day paddling, including beautiful venison salami and chorizo from the award-wining Great Glen Charcuterie. All of its venison products are produced by hand and air dried because of the owners’ passion about preserving as much of the unique and unrivalled flavour of wild venison as they possibly can.

And after a two-day paddle to Loch Ness and camping in the wild, give yourself a taste of something different by camping on your last night in Canalside Cottages’ glamping bothy at Laggan Locks. A wood-burning stove, a comfy bed and a peaceful setting to relax and unwind.
